*** Leave Song Suggestions Here ***

Please leave song suggestions in the comments of this post.

All and any type of music, as long as it moves you.

Thanks for your help, as I would like to add new songs to my ipod as well!

Also, let me know if you have any suggestions for the blog format, especially the links to Grooveshark; and perhaps any alternatives. I have found that being able to listen to a whole song is a plus, as most places you would purchase a song will only allow you to hear a snippet of the song. I have added both Amazon and iTunes links for purchasing mp3s.

Song: 2001 (Also Sprach Zarathustra)
Band: Phish

The majority of Phish's progressive stuff is all about tension and release. This is more or less a funky cover of a cover song based on the famous 2001 Space Odyssey theme. I start out a majority of my runs while listening to this song. Its also a great starting point if you are interested in the band at all. You had mentioned you were hesitant to purchase the song. Luckily, the band allows their shows to be taped. Just google
"phish googlespread sheet" you'll find media fire links to the shows. and then use this link to point you to which show the song was played at and that you can download

sorry for such a lengthy explanation. If you like it check out their aptly named "Run like an Antelope"

Thanks Mjsen33!

A favorite song of mine growing up was Also Sprach Zarathustra as played by Deodato:

In fact, the keyboard work reminds me of the Phish. The keyboard (Deodato is a jazz keyboard player) really gets grooving around 2:45 into the song.

The Phish has a rock-ier drum beat, and is better for running...but you may enjoy the Deodato in comparison.
